Free Musical Software

If your like me, you might have had a hard time trying to figure out how to set up a music/recording studio on your own. I have wanted to turn my PC into a recording studio for years, but had no idea how. Well I have figured the whole thing out, and actually found a few tricks which enabled me to get a lot of stuff for free!

I love freeware!

Here is what I will be showing you!

  1. Where to get the software you need
  2. Which one's are free
  3. What you need

First of all it all depends on what your trying to accomplish, myself I wanted to record actual instruments such as guitars, bass, drums, rather than create samples and beats

In order to do this you will first have to acquire a high quality multi track studio!

A multi track studio enables you to record one instrument, and then record another while listening to the first one at the same time, afterwards it will be like listening to a real band.

I have been able to find quite a few of these recording studios, here are the links....enjoy

ecoAction

Global warming, species extinction, icebergs melting, it doesn't sound like we are doing such a great jobs in out "managerial" positions!!!!!!

Well recently Canada has stepped up to the plate with their 2007 "ecoAction" plan, which includes 20 initiatives to increase environment awareness.....wow what a concept.. .you mean we are going to actually take advantage of our amassed knowledge? There are actually quite a few interesting things going on here, why isn't the U.S. pushing this envelope as well?

The Canadian government plans on pursuing this issue on a couple of fronts

  • Regulations upon air pollution from major industries
  • Regulations on fuel consumption
  • Increased renewable energy supply....IE: solar, wind
  • Tax incentives for cleaner energy use

This is just part of the plan, I found it interesting how simple things can likely make a huge difference.

Transportation plays a huge factor in this equation, here is a list of recent initiatives taken to help......

Taken from www.solidwastemag.com

"• $1.3 billion for public transit infrastructure, and $605 million over three years for a 15.5-per-cent tax credit for the purchase of monthly transit passes to increase public transit use, which will ease traffic congestion in our urban areas and improve air quality. Budget 2007 proposes to strengthen the tax credit (see Chapter 5). • $962 million towards FLOW, the federal government’s new long-term transportation action plan for the Greater Toronto Area. Funding is sourced from Ontario’s allocation of new infrastructure programs. This plan includes five transit projects in Toronto, York Region, Brampton, Mississauga and Durham Region.

• $10 million for the ecoMobility program, which will help reduce urban passenger transportation emissions by encouraging increased transit ridership and the use of other sustainable transportation options.

• $36 million for the ecoFriendly Vehicles initiatives to provide information, such as the benefits of advanced vehicle technologies (e.g. hybrids) and fuel consumption information, and to encourage consumers to purchase fuel-efficient vehicles.

•$61 million for the ecoFreight program to take new steps to reduce the environmental and health effects of freight transportation through the use of technology.Incentives for Purchasing More Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Canadians purchase about 1.5 million new passenger vehicles annually, and about 12 per cent of Canada’s total greenhouse gas emissions are generated by daily driving.

Everyone has a role to play in reducing the amount of emissions that come from vehicle fuel consumption. Industry has a role in improving the efficiency of transportation and in promoting the development and adoption of cleaner transportation technologies. For its part, the Government has committed to introduce tougher fuel-efficiency standards for new passenger vehicles and light trucks that will be sold in Canada beginning with the 2011 model year."

Google TiSP (BETA) April Fools?

Looks like someone over at Google has quite the sense of humor. They are supposedly offering free broad-band service to anyone that has a computer and a commode....LOL via their Google TiSP.

Google Tisp apparently delivers 8mbs through your sewage line.....hahahahah.. too much Google.
I can't really laugh that much though they had me for a couple of minutes until I accessed the FAQ....and read this little tidbit........taken from http://www.google.com/tisp/faq.html

"I'm having trouble installing or using TiSP.
Your Internet connection should be working within one hour of GFlushing the sinker. If you still aren't online after that period of time, your toilet may be clogged. Please flush three more times, then check your online connection again. If you're still experiencing problems, drop eight mints into the bowl and add a two-liter bottle of diet soda. For further assistance, please visit the TiSP Help Group."

Well, hope you enjoyed all of this, Google Tisp may be a dream, but really it shouldn't be too long before something like this is really possible. I wonder what Tisp stands for? I think I'll stick to my Verizon DSL service, super fast....Wireless, took me literally 5 minutes to get up and running, all for under $20 a month!

Life techniques

Hello, and good evening, this article was going to originally be called sales techniques, but I decided to re-label it life techniques.

I re-named the article because I believe that a lot of sales techniques can also be carried over into our own personal life.

I spend my days as a successfully sales-rep, I am top of my field almost constantly, I should be further in life but didn't "wake up into reality until I was about 26 years old"...yes I was one of those guys that was stuck in party mode, I always worked hard, just not at the right jobs, I was putting off responsibility, and my paycheck reflected that.

At the same time I always felt something inside of me that I knew more that half the people I worked with didn't have! I gave a Sh$t.....anyways throughout the last couple of years I have had many mentors, some good, some terrible. I have adapted all of their techniques into my own, and feel I have an unbeatable system!

What is my system you ask? My system is not having a system! Well Kind of, what I mean by that is that there is no set selling technique that will work for everyone, some guys are relationship guys, some are value guys and some are price guys, I like to take all of my customers into the VALUE ZONE, there are quite a few ways of doing so......here we go

1. Form a relationship - you would not believe how important this is, and how many reps fail to do this. Who would you rather buy off, your friend or a stranger? You might even be priced a little higher but guess what, they care about you!

2. Follow up - Possibly the most underestimated aspect of business, none of my competition does this, and it pissed people off

3. Stay organized - More important than you can imagine

4. Don't Sell - Set aside time to not sell your customer but just B.S.

5. Grow their Business - Make it a point to grow your customers business, let them know your trying to do so, even if it's initially at your expense, any customer worth having will reward you in the end

6. Show the Value - Do things your competition can't or wont, last minute deliveries etc!

Try implementing these simple tips into your routine, and watch your sales grow!

Blood Diamond

Wow....I was very surprised at how amazing of a movie Blood Diamond turned out to be!

First of all I used to despise Leonardo DiCaprio, but between this movie, The Departed , and The Aviator , I am basically being forced to give this guy some props.....

His performance in this movie is nothing short of brilliant, his character is so 3 dimensional, I found myself getting lost in this movie constantly, and that doesn't happen to me all that much.

The sad truth about the movie is that it's based on truth, their are over 200,000 child soldiers in Africa because of greed over diamonds, people are killing each other.

Every time we buy that expensive.....(rip off) engagement ring we are contributing to this WAR. We, as Americans are trained that certain things are necessary, due to the heavy marketing that has brain-washed our society, it's really a shame.

I wish we could stand up as a country together and laugh in conformity's face, but I guess I'm asking a lot!

Well, regardless of the situation, I still highly recommend this piece!

Running off the weight!

Hello everyone, thought I would make a contribution to my peers blog here. lately I have been making a big deal about getting into shape. I guess a lot of people share this common goal with myself.

I have found that from experience running, walking, and jogging are some of the best ways to accomplish this often daunting task. There are countless Books about Weight loss but I will try to simplify thinngs here.

Experts declare that running 25-30 miles per week will help you shed the pounds, that's a lot of ground to cover, they may be better off starting at an obtainable goal, like say 5-10 miles per week.

Don't expect miracles though.....at first you may actually gain weight, as the body converts fat into muscle! This is temporary and soon enough you will be shedding those pounds

IT IS SAID.... That it is better to run long and slow, in other words running in excess of 90 minutes, although I wouldn't advise this everyday, I would say to try to fit it in at least once a week.

Obviously there are other things that can be done to help with losing weight, but here is an easy one that may also make you feel good :)
